40 YEARS
We have over 40 years of construction experience. In the Virgin Islands, we have over 30 years and countless commercial and residential projects. We know the increased challenges to home building and the difficulties faced by those who want to own a home. VI Steel Homes provides solutions to the challenges and creates durable, affordable options for homebuyers.
We are Experienced, Reliable Builders.
Ron Carey has over 40 years of home building in the Caribbean and the United States. With his first-hand knowledge of building and managing construction projects, he knows how to handle the increased challenges to home building and the increased cost of owning a home. His motivation is to make home-ownership a possibility for the average family.
“Residential building is becoming more complex with an unreliable supply chain, longer times to complete a home, the increased cost of labor and materials. These issues are compounded when building on an island. I want to offer housing options that are modern, durable and affordable. My goal is to make the dream of owning a home a reality”
Homes Built to Last
In the Caribbean, we co-exist with the beauty of mother nature. That means we also experience the heightened effects of climate conditions: from earthquakes and hurricanes to mold and termites.
We Serve the Caribbean and East Coast of the United States.
We have over 40 years experience building with hurricane resistant steel from New Jersey to Florida to the US Virgin Islands.

We use corrosion-resistant coatings or materials, such as galvanized or stainless steel, to protect against the corrosive effects of saltwater. Regular maintenance and inspections are also important to prevent corrosion.
-
Homes in the Caribbean and coastal areas should have concrete and elevated foundations to protect against storm surges and flooding. Also, designs should account for strong winds and potential hurricane impacts. To protect against wind and seismic damage, we use reinforced framing and secure anchoring methods.
